Local Authority road repair team at Pike Corner,
1922. Most of these men were from the village. Using watering cans, they
applied hot tar to the road surface in patches and then sprinkled
chippings on top.

With my mother at the cottage where I was born in
Broadway, taken in 1937. This cottage and many others were demolished in
the late 1950s, completely destroying the character of that part of the
village.
